Travelling to Campus

Students travelling to the University should be aware that CAR PARKING IS VERY LIMITED on all campuses, particularly at the beginning of the autumn term.

Please consider alternatives to driving where possible – use public transport or find/advertise car shares via MarketPlace on UniLife.

Train Travel

All USW campuses are within walking distance of a train station.

The local bus operators are:

Newport bus SmartCard covers the normal Newport bus service routes and additional services in Cardiff, Cwmbran, Chepstow, Abertillery and Monmouth.

Students can receive discounts on UK-wide travel with Megabus and National Express via UNiDAYS. Travel discounts are also available from the NUS.

A free shuttle bus service is provided between the Treforest and Glyntaff campuses and the Treforest and Tyn-y-Wern campuses.

Cycling

You can cycle to all USW campuses on the sustrans National Cycle Network and each campus provides secure bike storage, lockers and showers. Students are encouraged to register bikes with the University’s Bicycle Registration Scheme
