Maintain Your Personal Details Online
Personal information you provide to the University at enrolment may change during the year. You can update some of this information online, for the rest you will need to contact the University.
Why should I keep my record up-to-date?
The name you supply at enrolment will be used on all official documentation from the University and it is important that you check that this name is correct.
The University often needs to correspond with students, via letter, e-mail or telephone, so it’s important that the contact details we have for you are accurate and up to date.
What to do next
- Log on to the UniLife homepage and follow the link Your Account.
- If any of the details there are incorrect, select the Update your details link.
- You will be asked to re-enter your username and password.
- Update the information as required.
You can view and update your personal details at any time, but please be aware that it can take up to 24 hours for changes to be shown on your profile.
If the information that needs changing cannot be edited you will have to contact your campus Advice Zone to implement any changes – see below.
Changing personal details that are normally permanent
If you wish to amend details that are not usually subject to changes during your time at University (e.g. your name) or you wish to correct information that has been entered incorrectly in the database (e.g. gender or date of birth) please contact the Advice Zone for your campus. You will probably be asked for some evidence to confirm the changes.
Additionally, Treforest-based students can update details using an online form for Changes to Personal Information.
When you update your personal details by the above method you are updating your entry in the University’s central student database. Some departments have their own separate records. While the University tries to ensure address changes are communicated to departments that have separate records, this cannot be guaranteed.
If you have previously been asked to provide details separately by a department or service, please contact them to let them know the changes in your details. Departments that may hold separate records about you include the Sports Centre, Accommodation Services, Student Support (including the Health Service), the Students’ Union and others.
