Using UniLife: an overview

What is UniLife?

UniLife is USW’s student portal, which brings together various student websites and services.

UniLife home page

Key features:

Your Study

Contains key study resources, including links to Blackboard, library resources, timetable information and IT Support.

FAQs/Your Questions/Appointments

Links to Advice Zone Online (AZO) the University’s online student support system. AZO contains Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or you can ask your own question and book appointments with specialist support services.

Your Mail/Your Storage/Your Account

Your Mail takes you to your Outlook student email account.

Your Storage allows you to store files online using Microsoft One Drive.

Your Account allows you to check and update personal information (e.g. your address and course modules), view your library account plus any outstanding university debts.

You can also edit or opt out of your ‘Public profile’ which is shown to other students as part of the Student List.

Make a Payment/Your tools

Make a Payment links to your finance account and ‘Your Tools’ links to a a wide range of web tools.

News/Events

Keep up-to-date with what’s happening at USW.

Marketplace

Marketplace allows you to post notices to other students. For more information and guidelines, see the Marketplace entry in UniLife’s A-Z.

Other UniLife features:
Search finds information on UniLife and associated webpages
• Important announcements are displayed at the top of the homepage
• When you need to re-enrol you will see a banner at the top of the homepage
• The promo area (sliding picture with text) changes daily

UniLife without a UniLife login
Most areas of UniLife except the homepage and certain account-specific pages are accessible without a student login.

What if UniLife isn’t working
On the rare occasions when this happens, the UniLife team will use the UniLife Twitter feed to communicate.
