This term’s competition on Glamlife is all about using Glamlife’s subscription options. Many of you already subscribe to Glamlife channels, but when we ask quick poll questions, there are always some students who are quite unaware.

So, for this competition, we decided to change that. To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is subscribe to Glamlife channels for a week and watch the Glamlife home page closely. Once you are subscribed, you’ll be able to see special competition announcements – email us the text of those announcements to enter the competition. If, at the end of the competition period, you are not happy with all your subscriptions, you can unsubscribe easily from the ones you aren’t interested in.

But what are “Glamlife channels”? Well, Glamlife is more than just a home page. Your student portal contains a central reference area – the Glamlife Directory –and various Glamlife channels. Glamlife channels are small websites produced and edited by different departments of the University. They produce news, list events, and some can post announcements. If you are subscribed to a channel, you get their news and announcements on your Glamlife home page.

How you can win

Next week, the Glamlife Team will post announcements on some of the optional Glamlife channels. There will be a different announcement each day, and you will only be able to see the announcements if you are subscribed to those channel(s).

  • You will be able to recognise the competition announcements by their tag: #comp
  • There will only be one competition announcement each day, and it will be on the Glamlife home page from noon until 9pm, only for students who are subscribed to the channel hosting that day’s announcement. Only competition entries sent while the announcement is on the site will be accepted.
  • To enter the competition, simply copy the announcement text. Send us an email from your University email account with the announcement text in either the subject or the body of the message. Send the email to glamlife@glam.ac.uk
  • You can enter the competition once for each announcement – so you can enter up to 5 times in total.

So, which channels do you need to be subscribed to if you want to be sure that you won’t miss any of the competition announcements? Here is the list:

  • Chaplaincy – At the Chaplaincy you can find information about a variety of faith groups. The Chaplaincy is also a place to meet with friends.
